Bike Box Terms
Bike Box Rental — Terms and Conditions
A. Booking and payment
Confirming your booking. You have 14 days from booking to cancel and receive a full refund in full, including the security deposit. If your hire period begins within those 14 days, the right to cancel ends when the hire period starts.
Security deposit. A fully refundable £100 security deposit is taken by card on collection. We refund it back to your card once the box is returned in the same condition it was collected in. Deductions may be made for late returns or damage, as set out below.
Identification. Please bring one form of photo ID when you collect the box. We'll take a copy for our records, held securely for the duration of your hire and handled in line with our Privacy Policy.
B. Collection, return and fit
Where and when. Collection and return both happen at our Riverside Showroom during standard opening hours. We don't offer a delivery service. If our opening hours genuinely don't work for you, get in touch before booking and we'll see what's possible.
Will your bike fit? Our boxes comfortably accommodate road bikes for riders up to 6'3". If you're taller than this, or you ride a downhill mountain bike or anything with 29" wheels, please contact us before booking so we can check. We can't be held responsible if your bike doesn't fit, but if you find it won't fit and let us know within 24 hours of your hire starting, we'll refund the full hire charge.
Late returns. If you can't return the box on the agreed day, a charge of £10 per day applies for each additional day, deducted from your £50 deposit. Things happen — if you're running into difficulty, please let us know as early as you can.
C. Responsibility for the box
Your responsibility during hire. The hire period starts when the box leaves our showroom with you and ends when it's back with us. Throughout that time, the box is your responsibility, including loss, theft or damage.
If the box is lost, stolen or damaged. A lost or stolen box is charged at £450 to cover the cost of replacement. A damaged box is charged at the reasonable cost of repair. The box remains the property of Moloko Cycling Ltd at all times.
Your bicycle. You pack your bicycle into the box at your own risk. If you take the packing tutorial (see below), the responsibility for packing the bike still sits with you. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK consumer law.
D. Packing tutorial
What's included. We include a packing tutorial in the rental price. We'll walk you through how to pack your bike into the box, so you feel confident doing it here in the UK and on your way home. The tutorial runs at our Riverside Showroom on the day of collection.
